WAW Building

Van Coillie & Co has teamed up with a partner, L.I.F.E. nv, and has formed a new entity on a 50/50 basis, Co-Life nv, in order to redevelop the AWW building into the WAW building. AWW stands for the Antwerpse Waterwerken, the local Antwerp water utility. The 1960′s landmark building is located one of the main entry roads into the centre of the town and comprised 12.000 m2 of offices and warehouse space, combined with a central court. Its main building faces a public open space accentuating its presence.

The building has been vacated by its former owner, AWW in the spring of 2011, which moved into an existing building next door. Co-Life refurbished the main tower building for re-use as an condominium office building, targeted at local end users. More than 80% of the building has already been sold. Today the occupants include law firms, software developers, a digital marketing agency, an art gallery, …creating a higher end mix in line with the image of the re-development.
